Matthew Langiano
Therapist
Finding the right therapist can be a challenging and deeply personal journey, but I am here to support you every step of the way. My approach is grounded in empathy, using an Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) lens to understand how our emotions shape our daily experiences with ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. While I primarily utilize EFT, I also incorporate elements of Attachment-Based Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to tailor my approach to each client's unique needs. I specialize in supporting individuals and couples experiencing self-esteem issues, stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and interpersonal relationship issues.
My journey in this field began at Seneca College in the Social Service Worker program, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from York University. I further honed my skills through a Post-Graduate Certificate in Addictions & Mental Health from Humber College, and I am currently completing my master's degree in Social Work at the University of Toronto. My lifelong love for learning dually supports my passion for helping those in a therapeutic space. I find great joy in the privilege and opportunities I get by learning about the finite ways your lives are shaped and formed and by helping guide you to where you would like to be.
I offer both in-person and online therapy. To ensure we're a good fit, I provide a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation for new clients. Whether you're considering therapy or have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. I look forward to discussing how we can work together!
Outside these walls, you'll find me on the golf course or soccer field, exploring new trails or indulging in my love for baking. A fun fact about me is that I'm an avid collector of wool sweaters. I'm currently at around two dozen!
