In the present, Alpha and Beta make up, it seems, by holding hands and reciting vows about fearing nothing and loving nothing. They then go to check out the satellite, and Alpha sees Carol standing in their territory.

Martha and Elli stand their ground in a dangerous encounter with a bull moose; Mike sets off for uncharted territory in search of much needed meat and fur; Tom resurrects a primitive recurve bow, putting his skills to the test; Jake is hot on the trail of a mating pair of mountain lions; Kidd and Harry try to warm up after their drenched river crossing.
Tom ventures into new territory for beaver, and sets a personal record; Jake puts his young dogs to the test, but one goes missing on the mountain; Kidd and Harry navigate a gauntlet of river ice on a mid-winter fishing expedition; Mike risks being left stranded as he struggles to pack out 500 pounds of feral cow meat; and Josh harvests a bison in preparation for a high stakes taste test with a local butcher.
Meanwhile, Michonne and Aaron lead a scouting mission and debate on how to best proceed, when they discover more evidence of Whisperer activity. Back on the beach, Daryl welcomes Carol from months on at the sea and the two have a heart-to-heart conversation. When a Soviet satellite crash-lands in the nearby woods, the survivors are forced to cross into Whisperer territory in order to put out the fire. Later, Daryl and Carol investigate the location of the Whisperers' herd. While the herd is now gone, Alpha emerges from the trees and stares down Carol.
The group in Alexandria defends the community against constant waves of walkers, leading the survivors to suspect that Alpha is sending the walkers. Negan earns Aaron's trust after saving him from walkers riddled with hogweed. Gamma arrives in Alexandria and tells the group to meet Alpha at the border, where Alpha demands more land as punishment for crossing into her territory; Carol tries to kill Alpha after she boasts about Henry's death, but Michonne and Daryl stop her.
Kelly becomes disoriented due to her hearing loss and gets lost in the woods, but is later found by Daryl, Connie, and Magna. Aaron encounters Gamma and offers her bandages after she cuts her hand; Gamma flees and informs Alpha of their interaction. Negan is found and joined by Brandon; Brandon murders a mother and her son in an effort to impress Negan, leading Negan to kill him. At Hilltop, the community works to rebuild the wall, while Ezekiel reveals to Siddiq that he has thyroid cancer. Magna reveals to Yumiko that she killed a man who attacked her young cousin, causing a rift between the two. Negan crosses into the Whisperers' territory and is attacked by Beta.
It is now Spring, a few months after the end of Season 9, when our group of survivors dared to cross into Whisperer territory during the harsh winter. The collected communities are still dealing with the after effects of Alpha's horrific display of power, reluctantly respecting the new borderlines being imposed on them, all while organizing themselves into a militia-style fighting force, preparing for a battle that may be unavoidable. 041b061a72
